I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
